Digital Release: Thanks for Sharing
Today, Mongrel Media is releasing Thanks for Sharing on all home entertainment platforms, including iTunes. Adam (Mark Ruffalo) is a sex addict celebrating five years of sobriety under the guidance of his sponsor Mike (Tim Robbins). But his recovery process is threatened when he falls in love with Phoebe (Gwyneth Paltrow), and becomes caught up with trying to help fellow addicts Neil (Josh Gad) and Dede (Alecia “P!nk” Moore) stay committed to following the twelve steps.
I first saw Thanks for Sharing at TIFF back in 2012, and these interconnecting stories come together in realistic ways, even though the film feels a little long and a few of the switches between comedy and drama don’t quite work. But this one is still worth checking out on iTunes for the strong performances, and a script by director Stuart Blumberg that provides sharp dialogue and some good insight into the world of addiction and the over sexualization of society.
Thanks for Sharing is 112 minutes and rated 18A.
