Blu-ray Release: The Fifth Estate
Today, Touchstone Home Entertainment is releasing The Fifth Estate (or The 5ifth Estate) on Blu-ray & DVD. Premiering as the opening night film at TIFF, this is a pretty good overview of the main events behind WikiLeaks, that is mildly worth a look for the solid acting from Benedict Cumberbatch and Daniel Brühl. We reviewed The Fifth Estate when the film opened in theatres on October 18th, and our overall consensus was:
“Although The Fifth Estate sometimes feels like a stylized overview of the dense WikiLeaks story, the strong performances from Benedict Cumberbatch and Daniel Brühl are the main reason to see director Bill Condon’s film. **3/4 (Out of 4)”
The Blu-ray includes three “behind the scenes” featurettes.
The Fifth Estate is 128 minutes and rated 14A.
