Winners of the 10th Annual IFMCA Awards Announced Today!
At noon EST today, the International Film Music Critics Association (of which I am a member) announced the winners for musical scoring in 2013. Congrats to all the winners and here’s to another great year in film scoring!
Taking home Score of the Year this year is Abel Korzeniowski for his classic score for Carlo Carlei’s Romeo & Juliet. Korzeniowski also took home the award for Film Composer of the Year as well as a another win for Romeo & Juliet in the Best Score for Drama category.
Breakout composer of the year went to Laurent Eyquem (Copperhead), Best Score for Comedy went to Theodore Shapiro for The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Best Score for Animation went to Joe Hisaishi for The Wind Rises, and Best Score for Documentary went to the excellent Tim’s Vermeer by Conrad Pope.
