This week, 20th Century Fox is releasing the 1984 comedy Revenge of the Nerds for the first time on Blu-ray. After excitedly arriving at college, likeable nerds Lewis (Robert Carradine) and Gilbert (Anthony Edwards) find themselves mercilessly picked on by Stan (Ted McGinley) and his gang of dumb jocks. Determined to no longer put up with the bullying, they band together with a group of social misfits to outsmart the popular kids and exact their revenge.

Although some of the characters are admittedly stereotyped, for the most part Revenge of the Nerds holds up surprisingly well after thirty years, and the sweetly inspiring messages of the film still feel relevant. As a raunchy college comedy, this is an often very funny and oddly charming classic that wildly entertains and is worth revisiting on Blu-ray.

The Blu-ray includes a commentary track, deleted scenes, a featurette and the pilot for the TV show.

Revenge of the Nerds is 90 minutes and rated 18A.
