Winners of the 14th Dorian Film Awards, presented by GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Film Critics
By John Corrado
Presented by GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Film Critics (of which I am a fairly new member), the winners of the 14th Dorian Film Awards have just been announced. Leading the pack is Everything Everywhere All at Once, which swept with wins for Film of the Year and LGBTQ Film of the Year, with Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert co-winning both the Director and Screenplay awards. Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan also won for their leading and supporting roles in the film, with co-star Stephanie Hsu being honoured with the group’s Rising Star Award.
Elsewhere, All the Beauty and the Bloodshed deservedly won the awards for both Documentary of the Year and LGBTQ Documentary of the Year. The stop-motion charmer Marcel the Shell with Shoes On was awarded Animated Film of the Year, while India’s RRR got Non-English Language Film of the Year, Charlotte Wells’ breakout film Aftersun was awarded Unsung Film of the Year, and Ti West’s Pearl got the honour of being named Campiest Flick of the Year.
