This is something fun I wanted to share. Amazon MGM Studios has just released a new trailer for I Play Rocky, ahead of the film’s release in theatres next month. At just a minute-and-a-half, this trailer gives you a good taste of what to expect from the hugely entertaining film.

Peter Farrelly (Green Book) directs this one, putting him firmly back in the Oscar race. Farrelly’s film is a genuine crowdpleaser that basically works by turning the making of 1976’s Rocky into its own version of an underdog sports movie, starring Anthony Ippolito in an uncanny performance as a young Sylvester Stallone.

I was a massive fan of this one when I saw it at TIFF (you can read my full review right here), and I wasn’t surprised at all when it ranked as the first runner-up for the People’s Choice Award. It’s a film designed to make you want to stand up and cheer (which the audience at the premiere did).

The film opens in limited release on November 6th, and expands on November 20th. I’m hoping this one is a box office hit!
