Along with the Prep & Landing: The Totally Tinsel Collection, today Walt Disney Home Entertainment is releasing a new edition of The Muppet Christmas Carol on Blu-ray & DVD.  Filled with excellent songs by Paul Williams as well as a brilliant performance from Michael Caine as Ebenezer Scrooge and equally great work from the entire Muppet cast, this 1992 film offers a surprisingly faithful adaptation of the Charles Dickens masterpiece.

As a longtime fan of the Muppets and the work of Charles Dickens, The Muppet Christmas Carol is a heartwarming personal favourite that I look forward to revisiting every year.  It’s hard to believe that the film is already celebrating its twentieth anniversary, but The Muppet Christmas Carol remains a genuine holiday classic that looks great in high definition and comes highly recommended on Blu-ray.

The Blu-ray includes a commentary track with the Muppets and another with director Brian Henson, a look behind the scenes of the film, a blooper reel as well as Pepe’s profile of Gonzo and a look at Christmas around the world.

The Muppet Christmas Carol is 86 minutes and rated G.
