Blu-ray Release: Fox Studio Classics
Today, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment is releasing eight of their classic films for the first time on Blu-ray. The first four are from the 1930s and ’40s, including the supernatural love story The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (1947) starring Gene Tierney and Rex Harrison, the swashbuckling romance The Black Swan (1942) with Tyrone Power and Maureen O’Hara, the entertaining western Jesse James (1939) featuring Tyrone Power alongside Henry Fonda, and the classic adventure Call of the Wild (1935) starring Clark Gable.
The next four are from the 1950s and ’60s, including The Undefeated (1969), North to Alaska (1960), Desk Set (1957) and Carmen Jones (1954). Any or all of these Blu-rays would make great gifts for the classic film fans on your list.
The Ghost and Mrs. Muir is 104 minutes and rated G. The Black Swan is 85 minutes, Jesse James is 106 minutes and Call of the Wild is 92 minutes, all rated PG.
