Winners of the 84th Annual Academy Awards
Hosted by Billy Crystal for the ninth time, the 84th Annual Academy Awards aired live tonight at 8:30 PM EST. Honouring the best movies of 2011, the telecast was broadcast live from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, with numerous celebrities in attendance to present and accept the 24 awards. The Artist took home five awards including Best Picture and Best Director (Michel Hazanavicious), tieing with Hugo for the most wins of the night. Octavia Spencer (The Help), Christopher Plummer (Beginners), Jean Dujardin (The Artist) and Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady) triumphed in the acting categories.
I tweeted my brief thoughts on the winners and commentary on the show throughout the evening, but my full and uncensored thoughts on everything that happened tonight will be coming tomorrow. Please see below for a complete list of nominees and winners in all of the 24 categories, in the order they were presented. We would like to take this time to say congratulations to all of the nominees and winners. Have a great night, everyone!
