Along with It’s a Spongebob Christmas!, Paramount Home Entertainment is also releasing Kung Fu Panda Holiday on Blu-ray & DVD today.  The short film has Po (Jack Black) being called upon by Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman) to host the annual Winter Feast, forcing the loveable panda to decide between spending the holidays with his colleagues or his father, Mr. Ping (James Hong).  With plenty of humour and a lot of heart, Kung Fu Panda Holiday is a charming companion piece to the excellent films.

The Blu-ray also comes with a couple of games and short featurettes, including one on how to draw the character Wo Hop (Jack McBrayer).

Kung Fu Panda Holiday is 25 minutes and rated G.

Also new to Blu-ray & DVD this week from Paramount is DreamWorks Holiday Classics.  A brand new collection of three previously released TV specials, the set neatly packages Shrek the Halls (2007) together with the highly amusing Merry Madagascar (2009) and last year’s nicely done DreamWorks Dragons: Gift of the Night Fury (2011) all on one disc.  The perfect companion piece to Kung Fu Panda Holiday, DreamWorks Holiday Classics comes recommended to families and fans of the animated films.

The Blu-ray of DreamWorks Holiday Classics has no bonus features.

Merry Madagascar and Shrek the Halls are both 22 minutes and rated G.  Gift of the Night Fury is 22 minutes and rated PG.
