We now have a new “official” trailer for Werwulf, the latest film from director Robert Eggers. Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Lily-Rose Depp and Willem Dafoe all star in this 14th century werewolf movie, re-teaming with Eggers following their roles in his 2024 vampire film Nosferatu.

I’m pretty excited for this one. It looks very much in line with Eggers’ previous work, with the trailer showcasing the dark and moody tone. It’s built around a series of disturbing images, framed in a 4:3 aspect ratio by Eggers’ usual cinematographer Jarin Blaschke.

The film opens exclusively in theatres on December 25th. Focus Features is clearly hoping this will turn into another hit like Nosferatu, which also opened on Christmas Day two years ago.
