Tonight, Roger Ebert Presents At The Movies will premiere on public television.  This new version of the legendary show that ended last August, is being produced by Ebert and will be hosted by Christy Lemire of the Associated Press and Ignatiy Vishnevetsky of Mubi.com.  Guest critics will also appear via satelite, and Roger Ebert will be featured in a segment titled Roger’s Office.  You can find a full list of stations and showtimes here.

I am not sure yet if any Canadian stations will be broadcasting the show, but full episodes will be available online at the official website.  Fingers are also crossed for a re-opening of the wonderful online archive that featured over 25 years of classic episodes and reviews.

At The Movies has meant a lot to me for quite some time, and it’s great to see the show returning in a new form.  Here’s to many more years of intelligent and publicly televised film criticism.
