DVD/Blu-ray Release: The Pirates! Band of Misfits

Today, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is releasing the recent animated film The Pirates! Band of Misfits on DVD & Blu-ray.  The latest claymation feature from Aardman, this silly high seas adventure boasts their trademark style of beautifully detailed animation and quirky British humour, providing amusement for those of all ages.  We reviewed The Pirates! Band of Misfits when it opened in theatres on April 27th, our overall consensus was:

“Although the story of The Pirates! Band of Misfits will be most engaging for younger members of the audience, the beautifully detailed animation from Aardman is excellent and there are enough clever sight gags to keep adults watching.  **1/2 (Out of 4)”

The DVD includes a commentary track with the filmmakers and an 18 minute short film titled So You Want to Be a Pirate!

The Pirates! Band of Misfits is 88 minutes and rated G.
