A24 has just dropped the first trailer for Misty Green, a Hollywood satire written and directed by Chris Rock, starring actress Rosalind Eleazar in the titular role as a washed up actress trying to make her comeback. The supporting cast includes Daniel Kaluuya, Anna Kendrick, Adam Driver, as well as Rock himself.

It looks like a mix of comedy and drama, with a potentially breakout performance from Eleazar. This is one of the big movies that was just announced to have its world premiere at TIFF in September, which isn’t surprising given that Rock’s last directorial effort Top Five premiered here in 2014 and made some waves. I like the cast, so I’m curious to check it out.
