DVD Release: Spinning Plates
Last week, Level Film released the good documentary Spinning Plates on DVD. The film introduces us to the unique people behind three very different restaurants, including the trendy Alinea in Chicago, the historic Breitbach’s Country Dining in Iowa and the struggling Mexican eatery La Cocina de Gabby in Arizona.
Nicely filmed by director Joseph Levy with good music by Ed Shearmur, Spinning Plates is a captivating documentary, following subjects who are connected by the ways they persevere over devastating challenges. This is an unexpectedly moving and inspiring film about being knocked down and getting back up again, beautifully showing the bonds that we all share through food.
The DVD includes no bonus features.
Spinning Plates is 93 minutes and rated G.
