How To Train Your Dragon Blu-ray

Paramount is releasing a new edition of How To Train Your Dragon on Blu-ray today, before the sequel opens on June 13th.  Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) is an innocent Viking who can’t bring himself to kill a dragon, much to the dismay of his father (Gerard Butler).  But then he befriends Toothless, a lovable dragon who just might convince the townspeople that the creatures don’t need slaying.

Directed by Dean DeBlois and Chris Sanders, who also made the equally great Disney classic Lilo & Stitch, How To Train Your Dragon is a breathlessly entertaining and also moving film that has only grown more resonant over the past four years.  With thrilling action sequences and a lot of heart, this was among the top ten movies of 2010, and remains DreamWorks Animation’s masterpiece.

The Blu-ray includes a commentary track, deleted scenes, “behind the scenes” featurettes, a new episode of the TV show DreamWorks Dragons: Defenders of Berk as well as the two short films The Legend of the BoneKnapper Dragon and Ultimate Book of Dragons.

How To Train Your Dragon is 98 minutes and rated PG.
